What we have achieved…
In 2014, Vanessa and Shona established a community giving circle called SAVE for Africa. Monies donated at this time were primarily for the funding of food, gas and clothing at the Uthando House Orphanage in South Africa.
In 2015, SAVE for Africa was registered as an Incorporated Association and renamed SAVE Projects inc. At this time, SAVE began focusing on additional projects that would benefit the children at the orphanage in South Africa.
SAVE Projects inc. funded the build of a playground and small library at The Nature Centre, an education and therapy centre which is close to the orphanage where not only the orphans would benefit, but the local underprivileged children as well. SAVE also initiated the employment of a Social Worker at the orphanage to ensure the children there were receiving much needed counselling.
In 2016, SAVE Projects inc. were granted Charity Status and registered as a not for profit Charity in Queensland. At this time, SAVE commenced working along side some Australian charities, like Brisbane Youth Services with the collection of GoCards for homeless youth.
SAVE have also aligned with the Pine Hills Football Club to sponsor an African Football club in a small village in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Adding to the facilities that SAVE sponsored at The Nature Centre in 2015, we have helped with the funding of new toilet facilities and employment of a full time teacher.
