Project Fresh Start, funds the growing need for educational expenses (uniforms, books, excursions) for students relocating to local schools as part of the foster care system or due to fleeing domestic violence.
SAVE Projects inc are committed to fundraising for and working with organisations that make a difference in the lives of children and young people and we want to share with our supporters easy things to do that can change lives.
We are proud to support RizeUp Australia and specifically the Rize4Liam program.
RizeUp Australia raise awareness of Domestic Violence and the victims, but just as importantly, they provide practical help to the many families affected – and in most cases, the help is needed fast.
This is where RizeUp make a very real difference. They have created various programs to support and empower the brave families via the specialist domestic and family violence organisations, from helping to create a new home for victims fleeing a violent household and supporting children in their healing process, to raising much-needed funds for families left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
The Rize4Liam program helps children in refuge to reach their full potential, providing whatever is needed to raise their self-esteem and help them fit in at school – uniforms, hair cuts, extra curricular activities, fees, lunch boxes books and bags. As we prepare our children to return to school, take some time to think about how we can impact these kids.
Children deserve to live free from domestic and family violence.
The impact of domestic violence on children and young people is enormous. Not only do they face daily challenges just living in a home where they are or have faced violence but they have very little chance of being able to successfully and independently navigate their school life.
Children who live or have lived in homes where there is domestic violence grow up in an environment that is unpredictable, filled with tension and anxiety and dominated by fear. This can lead to significant emotional and psychological trauma, similar to that experienced by children who are victims of child abuse. Instead of growing up in an emotionally and physically safe, secure, nurturing and predictable environment, these children are forced to worry about the future, they try to predict when it might happen next and try to protect themselves and their siblings.
All items collected via RizeUp’s Back 2 School Drive go directly to the kids living in refuge or whose lives have been disrupted by violence and who need help with all of their back to school needs. Backpacks, stationery, lunch bags, drink bottles, or donations toward the purchase of new school uniforms & shoes.
It’s never to late to donate. School items and funding are always needed throughout the year and SAVE are proud to continue to support this campaign.
